SOCIAL MEDIA TOOLKIT
ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN
October 5th - 30th, Motus Theater and like-minded partner organizations and people are hosting #storiesfordemocracy. The campaign will share excerpts from Motus Theater’s Shoebox Stories Podcast: UndocuAmerica Series in which prominent Americans model civic hospitality by stepping into the shoes of undocumented people caught in the crosshairs of U.S. immigration policy. By suspending judgement and reading and reflecting upon their stories aloud, the readers uplift the humanity of undocumented people and interrupt the anti-immigrant narrative used to justify inhumane immigration policies.
Every few days in October we highlight short excerpts from a different podcast episode featuring a new promient American and undocumented person. Browse through the content and choose a message from each story to share across your social media channels.
Motus Theater’s undocumented monologists can be civically engaged, volunteer for our community, pay taxes, but they can’t vote. The goal of this campaign is to transcend political differences and introduce humanity into the conversation surrounding immigration policy while encouraging people to Register & GET OUT the VOTE.
